ATMA AIMS Examination 2016: Results declared

New Delhi: The Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS), which conducted its online AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA 2016) in December 2015, declared the results on Thursday.

The candidates who appeared for the exam can access their results on the official website – http://www.atmaaims.com/

As per the directives from Government of Maharashtra State, ATMA Score is valid for admissions against 15 percent OMS quota and 20 percent Institute level seats for all the institutes offering MBA/MMS.

ATMA is approved by Ministry of Humar Resource Development of the Government of India for admission on all India basis to the MBA/PGDM programs.

AIMS is a networking organisation of business schools in India. Founded in 1988 as a registered society, the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS), a non–profit professional organisation, has since grown into a powerful network of over 698 top management schools of national and international repute in the country.

It is the second largest network of management schools in the world and the official representative of Indian Management Schools in India as well as in some important International forums.

Govt to provide free English tuition for SC, ST students of IITs

New Delhi: Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday informed the Rajya Sabha that the government has decided to operationalise a Peer-group Assisted Learning (PAL) Programme for socially and educationally disadvantaged students in the IITs.

Under this programme, the senior students would mentor fresh students especially from socially and educationally disadvantaged sections and help to cope with the academic pressures of IIT.

Apart from this, many IITs have taken steps such as, operationalising a basic English language course to improve English competency, offering two-non-graded courses in language and writing skills using professional software for English language instruction, conducting formal, informal English language remedial sessions by student mentors and holding special English classes on weekends or evening tutorials and provision of additional help through teaching assistants.

This support will be provided by IITs without charging any fee.

Jail inmates take Class 10, 12 Gujarat State Education Board (GSEB) exams

Vadodara: At least 100 jail inmates lodged in various prisons of Gujarat are appearing for Class 10 and Class 12 Board exams being held by the Gujarat State Education Board (GSEB).

The exams began on March 8.

“The state government has set up four examination centres in the premises of Vadodara, Lajpore (Surat), Rajkot and Ahmedabad jails to enable these imprisoned inmates to take the exams,” The Indian Express quoted MA Rathod, Welfare Officer of Vadodara Central Jail, as saying.

“Thirteen inmates from jails in Vadodara, Chhota Udeypur and Bharuch, are appearing for these exams. Special arrangements have been made for them, including installation of CCTV cameras, in the barracks in Vadodara jail premises,” he said.

“The exams are being conducted under the supervision of a Zonal Officer and a Supervisor of Vadodara district education department, and are being held as per the guidelines of the GSEB,” LA Desai, a senior jailor, said.

Bilaspur University cancels exam after Q-paper leak; students ransack VC office

Bilaspur: The offices of Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Bilaspur University here were on Tuesday allegedly ransacked by college students, after an examination scheduled for today, was suddenly cancelled by the authorities following a question paper leak.

Exam for English subject of FY BSc, which was scheduled to take place today, was cancelled by the university authorities after reports of the question paper leak.

“The university management came to know about the question paper leak in the wee hours. During the verification process, it was found that questions in the photocopy of the question paper were identical to the original,” Bilaspur University Vice Chancellor GD Sharma said.

Subsequently, all the 83 examination centers in five districts – Bilaspur, Mungeli, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa and Korba, which comes under the purview of Bilaspur University were asked to cancel the exam with immediate effect, he said.

After getting to know about the cancellation of exam, students from some colleges affiliated to the university and some students’ organisations, stormed into the university campus and ransacked the office of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar Dr Arun Kumar Singh in their absence.

The students damaged tables, chairs and other articles besides threw away some files inside their offices following which the university management informed the police, an official said.

A police team immediately came to the spot and pacified the protesting students, he added.

“Based on the complaints, a case was later registered against the students for ransacking the VC and Registrar offices. Besides, a separate case has also been filed in connection with the leak of exam question paper,” he said.

According to the protesting students, Maths question paper for SY BSc and Hindi of FYBA exams, held on March 10 and March 12 respectively as part of annual examination of the university were also allegedly leaked.

Students said they had even complained to the varsity management, but no action was taken on their part.

Over a query in this regard, the VC said, he had not received any information regarding the leak of question paper for the BSc Maths exam held on March 10.

“We had got reports of BA Hindi question paper leak on March 12 evening. Hence, there was no possibility to take any action on that,” he said.

According to the VC, the new date of the exam will be announced within next couple of days.

New Delhi: A parliamentary panel’s recommendation to make public details on moderation of marks of aspirants of civil services examination has not been accepted by both the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the government.

The civil services (CS) examination is conducted by UPSC annually in three stages–preliminary, main and interview– to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.

The Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, in its report tabled in Parliament recently, has desired that the UPSC should examine whether details with respect to moderation of marks can be put in the public domain so that the fairness of the Commission is not questioned and also the desired level of transparency prevails.

In its reply, the UPSC said the marking system which includes moderation, is an integral component of the Commission’s evaluation process, to which it assigns a high degree of confidentiality.

“This modality of moderation has evolved over a period of time and is based on a rational criteria which has stood the test of time. The Commission makes merit-based recruitment and maintains the highest standards of integrity and fair play in the examinations and selection processes.

“The Commission, therefore, does not support the proposal for placing such confidential information pertaining to its internal evaluation processes in the public domain, which could have a high litigation potential that may impinge on the confidentiality and integrity of the examination process,” the report said mentioning the reply of the examination- conducting body.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), nodal authority for UPSC, has agreed with the response given by the Commission before the panel.

New Delhi: The students appearing for Vellore Institute of Technology’s engineering entrance exam VITEEE 2016 will have three days to book their slot which begins from Friday.

The students can book their slot from March 18 to March 20, 2016 at www.vit.ac.in.

The online tests for VITEEE 2016 will be conducted in April 2016 between April 6 to 17.

The exams will be conducted during three different sessions each day on the test days and candidates can choose any slot/date/time of their choice by following the procedure to book VIT 2016 slot.

As per guidelines, for slot booking login user name and password has been sent to the candidates email ID and mobile number.

Once the slot booking is done, the test city, date and slot timings cannot be changed under any circumstances.

Here are some of the points for your reference.

  • The slot booking will be done through OTBS- online test booking system, a web based system for online scheduling which is available at vit.ac.in presently for entrance exams.
  • The slot booking for VITEEE are ‘first-come first served basis’ and is subjected to the availability of test centre, date and time.
  • The slot booking by each candidate should be completed within specified dates and no request will be entertained after that. Also, only the candidates whose applications have been accepted, will be able to book the slot for VITEEE 2016.
  • Once the booking is complete, e-admit cards will be sent to the candidates via e-mail IDs containing the confirmation of test centre and rest of all details. E-admit card must be downloaded before the exam and at least one copy shall be taken along at the time of exam with a valid ID proof.

New Delhi: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has declared the results of its written entrance examination.

 Candidates can check their results on the official website: http://www.nift.ac.in.

You will need to have your roll number and application number to check the results.

The exams were held on February 14, 2016. Minimum qualification required for sitting in the exam is Class 12 pass from a recognised board or institute.

The selection process for NIFT comprises three stages – written test, situation test and personal interview round.

NIFT was set up in 1986. It has centers in more than a dozen places including Mumbai, Kolkata, Kangra, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Raebareli, Patna, Shillong and Bhopal.

It also has a centre in Jodhpur, where it offers a four-year Bachelor’s degree and two-year Master’s degree programmes.

Earlier, the results were to be announced on March 19, 2016.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore announced the exam results of GATE 2016 on the official website.

The GATE 2016 exam was held on January 30, January 31, February 6 and February 7, 2016.

Vijayawad: The Secondary School Certificate (class X) examination of the Andhra PradeshBoard of Secondary Education will commence from Monday

 A total of 6,57,595 students in all 13 districts of the state will appear for the examination to be held at 3,028 centres, an official press release issued by Krishna district Collector office said.

In Krishna District, 56,727 students will take the exam.

Krishna Collector Babu A has said students have been asked to enter examination halls before 9.30 AM as exams are scheduled between 9:30 AM-12:15 PM. The exam ends on April 7.

He instructed that any kind of electronic gadgets and cell phones are strictly prohibited inside the examination halls.

Vijayawada Police Commissioner Goutam Sawang has announced that section 144 of CrPC (prohibition on assembly of more than 10 people in an area) will be imposed near all SSC examination centres.

AP State Road Transport Corporation officials informed that students taking the exam can travel in RTC buses for free for commuting from home to the examination centre and back by producing hall ticket.

New Delhi: SSC CPO (SI/ASI) exam held on March 20 has been nullified by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) following paper leak.

As per reports, the Recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, CAPFs & Asst Sub-Inspectors in CISF Examination, 2016 was cancelled after images on one sheet from the question paper went viral on social media.

The Indian Express reported that Neetu Singh, founder of KD Campus coaching institute, had uploaded on Facebook the image of one sheet from the question paper around five hours before the exam.

She was forwarded the on Sunday morning by one of her students. That student had accessed the sheet from a fellow passenger on the Metro.

Neetu Singh later found out that all the questions featured in the evening shift of the exam.

The SSC has notified on its website that a re-examination will be conducted on June 5 for those candidates who had appeared in the examination in the forenoon and afternoon shifts.

Many students are disappointed by the development.
